I bet people would drive better around that thing. The best part is you would not need a horn, you have a gernade launcher :-)

Impressive. And to think, they just gave it to him! How nice, our tax dollars and they just give it to him. We can't even buy a surplus HumVee w/ a complete drivetrain yet someone can just walk off w/this piece of high-tech equipment. I'm sure some NG unit would love to have had it. Damn glad he wasn't in charge of a B-2 squadron

Well, at least he SAYS he is a General and they gave it to him. A couple of slip-ups in the writing makes me suspicious of the story.

One suspect item is that the photo is NOT of a Leopard C1 tank at all! Run a google search for Leopard C1 Tank and see what they really look like. Somebody is just playing games here for sure.

at Walmart's yesterday...

Pretty sneaky, him trying to pass off another tank as a Leopard. One wonders what happened to the spots. Maybe it is just a kit tank on a Leopard chassis.

Its not a Leopard. Its not even a tank, an apc of some sort maybe a variation of the Bradley Fighting Vehicle. Biggest giveaway is that the Military DOES NOT give them to retiring generals especially one indiscreet (sp?) enough to put it online for sale. And in running like new condition for less than the cost of one track?

It's a standard M113 APC chassis with anti-aircraft missiles and radar on top. While some few civilians have obtained armored vehicles from the U.S. military many years ago, they were NOT rewards for military service. Next to impossible to obtain today, and the govt can, at any time, declare the sale invalid and reclaim the property. BTDT, but not with an APC.

Does that mean that after I win the "Powerball" multimillion buck jackpot I CANNOT legally find, license, buy and mount a complete functional working B 50 SAC bomber quad 50 front top gun turret, barbette, ammo tubs, plus four (4) 50 caliber machine guns on the front top of my 1974 Crown Super Coach 40-foot 3-axle 10-wheeler ex-schoolie ultimate motorhome to maybe be sometime??? OH DARN!!! :-) :-)

You probably could, However they tend to do a process of "demilitarization" that uses a really big wedge that is dropped on the airframe with a crane.
The government tends to demilitarize stuff or require it to be done before you can accept delivery. Then you figure out how to superglue it back together. And there's another catch. You have to sign a document stating the intended purpose or end of use of most items that you buy. That can take weeks to clear the "intellgence" people.

No, But you CAN buy a REAL GE MiniGun like used in the movies. Oh.. Sorry they are called movie-guns. If you have about $140,000.00 to play with you too can have a real blank firing MiniGun..

And it only costs about $6,000 per firing. :-)

Somebody out there had a kit to allow bolting four Ruger 10/22 (22LR) rifles together and crank-operate the triggers. Now that the Fed 10rd mag limit is gone you can score big mags again - 30rd shipping already I think, 50s won't be far behind.

(A few states have a STATE level magazine ban, like California.)

Respectable rate of fire :-) and sorta cheap to feed with rimfire 22s.
