My wife and I are going to take a few days and head to the surplus outlets in the area of Elkhart, In. Can anyone reccommend a campground in that area for a couple of days? (or tell me what ones not to use) I see there are two in the Shipshewana area, but from the internet sites you can never tell. thanks in advance Jim Callaghan 4106 |

Elkhart Campground 25608 County Rd. 4E Elkhart, IN 46514 http://www.elkhartcampground.com/ I have been to others RV camp near by but this my favorite choice and reasonable. Been there several times and where I met John Palmer who is RV rep for inverter co. Walking knowledgeable battery & inverter man. He can answer any question about battery & inverter….very smart indeed. He there every summer (2 to 3 months) to answer all brand RV manufacture co. He usually park in back of camp. http://www.jolynenterprises.com/index.html Oh by the way highway 19 (Cassopolis St) (which is 1mi west of campground on County Rd 4) & south for 2mi is full of big name restaurant. Be sure to get areas map from campground. You will love Elkhart…RV City of US of A! http://www.rverscorner.com/info/rvsalvage.html While there shop at Bontrager RV Surplus Part (best price & selection), Elkhart Surplus Salvage (across from large railroad yard) and Midwest Salvage (20mi east). The rest of them are limited & higher cost. RV Surplus & Salvage have great selection but higher price then most others. Shop around for three days then have all your needs. Ramco is there. http://www.ramco-eng.com/Faqs.html Equalizer System http://www.equalizersystems.com/mh.asp FWIW Sojourn for Christ, Jerry |

The Great Lakes Converted Coaches (FMCA Chapter) will have a rally in Elkhart, July 27-31. We will be staying at the Elkhart campground. It is centrally located. The rally starts mid week, because most of the stores close by 1PM on Saturday and only one is open on Sunday. If you are interested in more information on our rally send an e-mail to Sue@coach-builder.com |
