Please put this in the "Things that restore faith in my fellow humans" category.

This little story certainly contrasts the failed "cooling fans" saga that has everyone, including me, reeling with disbelief, so I thought I would pass this little "good news" story along to brighten your day... or holiday, if that's the case.

I'm certain the gentleman in this story would otherwise want to remain anonymous because all this happened through email; so I have eliminated his name, though some of you may remember what happened:

I recently received a PayPal payment of $50. from this nameless gentleman with the follwing (edited) note attached:

"Ian, Not an ad, but making good on a promise to dontate $ to BNO after an "iffy" post regarding my... conversion bus parting-out vs. selling. Someone bought my bus for parts and was aided by the post on BNO, so I'm donating what an ad would have cost. Thanks."

Well, thank you, sir (you know who you are!). That was neither expected nor necessary, but I am blown away by this example of decency and fair play. Truly, it is gestures like this that make the world a better place to live and, thankfully, this is the norm rather than the exception. $50. isn't the point, of course; the gesture, though, is immeasurable.

Again, thank you.

Ian

I also know who it was and yes he is a true gentleman. In fact he was contacted before the thread appeared on BNO. Great job Ian for noticing his Honor (Honour for us Cunucks )

OH, you mean dat guy who has the bus-commitment-phobia? Heck, Ian, he will be an ongoing source of revenue for you. Give him a few more months and he'll be back, shopping & swapping for a different brand. :-)

Seems like most of these folks are stand-up guys, they just need more projects so they won't bicker so much with each other instead of getting real work done... :-)

Aw, shucks. "Nameless" is blushing.

Speaking of Honor/Honour, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention I@n's original offer to host my ad for free... apparently since he took pity on my lo$$ on the bus, even though it was a most self-imposed condition.

This Board, its gracious Admin and its members (and the advice they freely dispense), are the truly immeasurable quantity to this Busnut.
