Before I tear into this shift actuator again I wanted to ask if anyone else has run into the same problem I've had.

I have a Stone Bennett shifter on an Allison 740, it is Toggle operated. When shifted into neutral the indicator (flashes) and neutral safety relay flutters. This sometimes causes delays in the bus starting or shutting down. I have had the shift actuator on the transmission apart and cleaned all of the contacts. The problem still exists. Other that this the shifting is fine.

I'm considering either a ground or connection problem. Maybe a actuator adjustment?

Any one with the same problem previously?

The only problms I ever had with mine were dirty and oily slide actuator at the trans and bad ground on the ground strap at the actuator. Oil was a leaking modulator and the ground problem was associated to that also.
