Has anyone put in a door handle and lock?If so what type are you using? Do to the door being so deep I can't find a door handle or dead bolt to use.I know I can buy it from Prevost, but they want over $400.00.Thanks,Don |

Don, I'm still raising the roof so I haven't gotten to the door latch yet but I plan to use one from a semi (Peterbuilt). I don't know what the cost will be from a local wrecking yard but I think new from the dealer is less than $200. Good luck,Sam. |

Don, After raising the roof on my 05 Eagle [ http://usera.cwnet.com/~thall/gene_lewis.htm ]I was ready to make a one piece door. Upon close internal inspection I found that the internal frame was shot -- killing that idea. I then decided to build the door from scratch. After skinning with new Eagle siding it was time for the handle/latch assembly. I went to a truck junk yard and purchased the complete assembly from a wercked Freightliner for $15. For the Dead Bolt I checked out Home Depot and Lowes and did not like their prices. Was in Big Lots and picked up a look alike for less than $5 bucks. Just my 2 cents worth. If I can help let me know. Enjoying the journey in NC, gene Lewis |

Prevost's lock is actually a GM part. I'd check the truck scrap yards. Steve Fessenden |
