Hi All,

I'm looking for a replacement Baggage Door Cable for a 1976 MC8 Unit
No. 31537.

The cable is 24" long, has a eyelet at one end and a shafted ball at
the other end. The shafted ball holds an elongated U-shaped bracket.

If you have one and are willing to part with it, please let me know.

My other choice is to order it. Unfortunately, I can't find the
correct part number.

From what I've figured out, MCI changed the design of the baggage
door cable system on MC8's twice.

Page 3.2903, dated January 1979, in my Parts Manual makes note of
the design changes, but, does not have the part number listed for
the second design change.

According to my Parts Manual the original part number, 2F-29-2, was
effective prior to Unit No. 30301.

The third designed part number, 3R-29-80, was effective with Unit
No. 32106

The number I need is for the second designed part. This part was
used on Units No. 30301 through 32105.

If you have a MC8 Parts Manual, please check the page listing the
baggage door parts and see if there is a listing for the second
designed baggage door cable.

It is also called: Cable - Retaining Door or Cable Assy.

Thanks for any information you can find.

John

Hello John

Just call MCI parts.

1-800-665-0155

I spoke to "Bob" earlier this evening and bought some exhaust parts for my MC8.

These folks are EXCELLENT at figuring out what part you need. They are PATIENT and work through everything you need.
Our old parts book numbers are out of date anyway.

Remember, many fleets are small, just like us!
Unlike much of the world, they're used to small guys!

I have NEVER had a problem with the friendly voices at the other end of the line. I continue to be amazed at the way I am treated time and time again.

They take Visa right there on the phone!

Some things are a great price, others are marked up quite a bit. Just like everywhere else.

But, for the stuff that matters, at least its supposed to fit!

happy coaching!
