I am curious as to how many people on this board are running the GM 4104, 4103, 4102, or 3751,4151 buses.I have notice that many of the members here do not post pictures of their buses on their profile so unless the user name gives a hint its sometimes hard to know who drives what. As a member of a antique truck club I am the only member that plays around with buses. Are there others out there that belong to ATHS or other clubs. From what I have experienced so far the majority of the bus nuts are very nice people that really enjoy their vehicles. Much like the antique truck people. I would like to see more antique buses participate in the ATHS show like was held in Auburn Indiana last June. My entire family from my six year old son fourteen year old daughter wife and myself were thrilled to not only see the Futurliner but two 4104s and 3703 show up at the show. My oldest brother along with four antique equipment clubs and myself put on a antique truck and power show every year at a local grounds here in Ohio and would surely welcome any bus nuts to come and camp for three days at the show. If your bus is antique or not and you enjoy antique equipment and trucks you should come and enjoy. Our show will be held on labor day week end e mail me for details. Tim

I have a 59 4104 as well as a 75 MC-8.

I think you will find alot of Older buses around, just perhaps not on this board.

I think your best hunting ground will be the Yahoo GM Busnuts group and the Flxowners yahoo group.

we have a 1948 GM 3703. we LOVE our older coach. We belong to the GM Bus Owners of New England, a FMCA chapter. The 3703 shares the same chassis as the 4103 (springs not air ride)

Tim,

I was just recently elected (??) President of the newly formed Ark. Chapter of ATHS. We had our first show in Conway, AR in late Oct and had our 4104 on display the two days. There was a 3751 there plus a '33 International school bus, the first bus ever built by Ward Bus Co of Conway.

I've been an ATHS member for years and have a good collection of trucks from a '31 Chevy 1 1/2 ton to a '71 Ford C750 fire truck and a couple of old military 6x6s. Maybe we can make it up to your OH show sometime.

I also have three antique farm tractors so you can see I have this incurable disease for old equipment.

Thank you everyone for your responce. Nick you still have the prize for the oldest for I have not yet aquired 1947 3751. I have so far a 1948 4151 and three 1948 3751 buses as well as my 1957 4104. The only other 47 3751 that I am aware of on the road is RW's modified series 50 powered. In my original post I refered to GM buses only. This was a mistake on my part as I enjoy seeing and hearing about all makes of tractors, trucks and buses. Anyone wishing to join us this coming labor day with any make or year of bus is welcome. The 4106 certainly can qualify as an antique. They just run a bit stronger than most of the antiques. Wow Jaun 1953-148 that is as early of 4104 serial number as I have seen. Tim

Kevin of course 1956 makes your 4501 of interest to the antiquers. If I'm not mistaken they were of relatively low production numbers as well weren't they TIM

Nice bus Kyle. I have a 1973 loadstar 1700 sigle axle and a 1970 transtar with a 230 cummins.I also have several R 190 IH trucks. I drove a 52 L120 when I was in high school. My father worked for IH for 30 years. He staid with them right up to the last few months of his life as he suffered with liver cancer and died. I am one of three sons that grew in and around IH trucks. We always had a travelall as a family car. Tim

1953 4104-076 Much modified (350 6V92, V730. etc).Has taken us to San Diego, Fairbanks, Caribou, ME and Key West. Never let us down on the road. On a 58 day caravan through Alaska it was the only one of the 22 vehicles that did not have a mechanical problem. They are good old coaches.

Jim as an antiuqe buff that is just the kind of story I love to hear. It shows that a well cared for older vehicle modified or stock can stay right up with the newer ones. Most of the trips we have been on with our stock 4104 have been in a convoy of antique trucks. So far we have had no problems at all although at times its been hard to keep up with the trucks that have been modified with between 400 to 550 h.p. engines. Those guys like to pass me on up hills to tease but allways wait for me down the road. The last two summers have been the most fun I have ever had on the road. Best of luck and merry Christmas to everyone hope to meet some of you at some point. Tim
