I found one on the snapon page along with a few regular ammeters (none big enough to handle the load). This one doesn't say how much it will take anyone know or know where to get one that will work for sure?

Nick, if you get a 500 amp shunt, about $25 from an inverter outfit, you can use a cheap DVM to read the current.

The common ones will give a 50 millivolt reading at 500 amps or 10 amps per mv. If you already own a DVM, this is about the cheapest and still very accurate way to get your readings.
