We have only been back from Florida about 2 hours now, We had to leave the Arcadia Bus Rally for personal reasons much earlier than I wanted as you have to know I was having a heck of a good time there but will return again next year, I am sure. We left Saturday about 3 pm but I tried in vain to get to see most of those regular bb'd posters but before I had to leave I just couldn't. I enjoyed posting my "Report" on each day of the rally we attended and have to do this one more post concerning the rally. I realized in my posts I always reported about the beautifull newer buses that were there and on the ingenuity of such bus converters as Sonny Gray, Gilles Cote, & Bill Glenn. I do not want any of the other 160+ bus owners feel slided in any way, I could write for hours probably and just bore everyone to death if I did and probably get run off the bulletin board. Everyone of you should be proud of your accomplishments, there was too many to mention every one and I choose those that everyone as well as me would talk about most of the day that I posted about in my report to you all. One thing I neglected to mention and am really sorry to admit I overlooked mentioning was the beautifull buses that all started this whole bus nut hobby we all love. The only owner I personally got to talk to while I was there was (Dave & Jan Siegel) that ownes the beautiful bus ("Silversides") that is a 1948 GMC PD3751 that you have to see to appreciate. This bus is gong on 60 years old and from the tender loving care of Dave and Jan this bus has been revived to a full healthy new existance that we all should just appreciate and hope that our buses will last as long as this one in particular has. I apologize Dave and Jan for not mentioning your bus as well as the many other "Older" beauties that were also at the Rally. To see Dave's web site go to: http://www.cruiser-magazine.com You will see the history of this beautiful bus and also get the skinny on one heck of a great couple. Owners of the other "Older and Mature" buses were never around when I was wondering all over trying to see if I could see inside of their buses and talk to them as well. Time just flies by at a pace that is scary when you attend one of these rallies especially as a "Newbie" again. But again, I was the new kid in the block trying to take it all in and in a very short time. I have pictues of nearly every bus that was there and will do my best now to get you these pictues ASAP. I also have to mention that I met this great young couple that was there and most of you probably know of that attended the rally. This couple's name is (James & Jessa Huebingreitinger), yep thats their name, everyone knows of them as the "Bug People", but for a different reason than you think. Jessa started putting a murial on the back of a Eagle when we arrived, it was a (Tiger's Face) and man what a beautiful job it was turning out to be. It was not done when I left but was about 90% and I have pictures of this also for you to view. Jessa & James have a web site, (http://www.projectinsect.com) that you have to take the time to look at and appreciate how talented these two people are. They tour the country and Jessa will do a mural on the back of your bus of anything you wish for a price of ($500-$1000) per her husband's information he gave me and this is all hand painted from your picture you want copied. Contact them from their web site if you are interested in getting their art craft before they go on "Oprah" and the price of their artwork goes up substantially I am sure. James worked his butt off every day polishing the wheels on many buses but he is also a very versed artist with unvelievable talent, bless his young healthy heart, those days are done for me on that part of polishing any wheels, I'll replace my framing first on my Eagle before working like he was. I will now sort out all my pictures I took and set up the views as front and sides of buses, back & murals of buses, Bus converters just enjoying small parties in small groups, the Ice Cream Social pictues and the Friday Night barbacue that was out of this world in quality and some of the entertainment that was provided that we did get to see. I will post on the two main bulletin boards where and when to view the pictures just as soon as I can, hopefuly tomorrow but now just watch for the post of this information. Thanks for allowing me to post these entries on the Arcadia Rally, and not running me off. You have missed a good time for sure if you did not attend. My only hope toinght is that everyone that left the rally all got home good and safe. We had a dickens of a time today, about 6 hours of solid down pours and so many wrecks on the way, thank god not us. Also thanks to those that attended my two seminars and I hope the door prizes more than make up for the seminar time you sat and listened to me. I appreciate the support of those that contributed to my seminar. One more thing, I want to thank Horizon Coach for the permission to use their property for this event and all of the following Co-Host, Sponsors and Contributors that made it possible for us to gather: Converted Coaches of the Eastern Area Prevost - The 'Ultimate' Class Alcoa Wheels Aon Recreation Insurance International Bus Parts BNO - Bus Nut Online - www.busnut.com Gary |
