I have a 4107 with a wet clutch and spicer tranny. It leaks about 1 quart in 200 miles when the bus is in motion.I always put in the oil the book calls for , The drive shaft seal is ok, And the gasket between engine and transmition does not seam to be leaking.I,ve cleaned it and then would run it on the road to see where it might be leaking ,but all i can see is a little oil all over everything.Could the shift rods or the cluth shaft leak this much? Thanks Jerry Wilson 4107-071

No, everything seems normal with the engine.I can,t see how the oil could get into the engine anyway. The way it looks in the manual, the oil would have to go back through the crank seals. If anything, it would be the engine oil leaking to the tranny . Jerry

Had to replace whole thing because waited to long to find and crack was almost all the way around it by that time. check for cracks have someone walk beside her as you go foward and back this is how i found mine.. Good luck

Jerry

Also if you get a chance go around all the bolts good with a wrench. Sometimes after you build a little heat that causes some leaking. Stuff tends vibrate loose that you wouldn't expect to.

Also check the breather on the housing. If that gets plugged (mud, dirt, wildlife) the pressure has to go somewhere and will cause a leak.

FWIW,
Dale

Thanks dale , i will do both of these. I found the motor mount that is at the back of the engine [tranny side] there are two, the one at the front side had the bolts missing from the block, it might be torqing the the tranny and causing a leak. will keep looking . Jerry
