Here's how I saved about 1.5 inches "long ways". Funny how an 1.5 can make a different out of 40 feet! I put my shower handle in the corner of the shower, making a shelf as well. The shelf holds shampoo, etc. I knew we would need one later, so I kind of killed two birds with one stone. Here's some pics if you're interested. http://www.droppedstone.com/1975%20MCI/shower_ctl1.jpg http://www.droppedstone.com/1975%20MCI/shower_ctl2.jpg HTH, Dug 75 MC8 Arcadia, Fl |

Nice! I almost put mine there, it's on a wall as close to the corner as it can get. Definitely yours is the best way to go! I had a problem with mine for the first few trips... the space is tight so I'd always be hitting the lever (actually mine's a knob style) as I moved around, and almost scalded myself a few times. So I surrounded the knob with a nicely machined piece of 4" ABS tubing about 3" long, so now the knob is "inside" the tube and can't be whacked anymore. The shower is a lot nicer now. Also, since my wife and I are only 5'7 and I raised the roof a foot, there was enough headroom to plop the shower pan right on top of a wheel well. This was a very nice way to use an otherwise painfully unusable place on the bus! Our clothes closet covers the other well... |
