What are your experiences with day/night shades? My wife isn't a fan of mini-blinds.... Dug 75 MC8 Arcadia, FL |

We love em! My wife made some curtains, but she wasn't happy with the light coming through. then we got our day/night shades from Camping World and couldn't be happier. They are not bad to install, just take good measurements before you order. Big plus is they don't flop around while you travel like the mini-blinds. FWIW, our travel trailer had mini-blinds. They were a pain. We replaced them with roll up shades and wasn't happy either. Dale |

My coach came with the day/night shades and I love them also. Allows me three positions. Day Blind/Night Blind and all of the way up to allow full light into my coach. Really works well. I'll do the same in my '82 that I'll be converting. Eric |

When I was looking for shades I priced out several manufacturers and the "RV" day/night shades were much lower priced than the conventional day/night shades one would get for a house. Then I found out that the "RV" day/night shades were not of good quality and would not work properly for very long, so I went to Home Depot and ordered Bali double cell shades on sale. Excellent quality and much lower priced than the home day/night shades. --Geoff '82 RTS AZ |

Geoff, wish I had known this yesterday. I just ordered five pleated shades from Camping World. I really wanted the closed cell type but the price was outrageous. |

I got the same ones Geoff did from HD and they look good and install easy. Ordering them was a problem (no thanks to the HD staff) but they finally came in and they are up. I will probably go with justblinds.com for the other windows since they are a lot larger than the 2 I have and the price from them for the larger windows is less than what the smaller ones were from HD. They keep out a lot of light at night and allow light in during the day. We got the bottom up/top down type for the BR. Don't care too much for the cords hanging but you give up some to get some! Didn't care for the camping world shades too much as 1, it took longer to get them and 2, nobody wanted to answer my questions or take an order for them so we left! Ace |

Geoff or Ace, Are those shades from HD secured at the bottom? Do they have a cord to raise and lower them like miniblinds? Just curious. Dale |

Dale mine has two cords. One on left side for dropping the top and one on right side for lifting the bottom. The shades are not secured at the bottom. They will swing in and out but in my case I put them behind some trim so they won't swing out and they actually can't swing in because of the factory window sill! Hope this helps! Ace |

It doesn't matter if they swing. I was just wondering, because I will need a couple more after I change my bedroom (factory bus)windows to RV style windows. The shades will probably be down during travel. I can make a small sill so they won't swing I want all of the shades (color)to match. I will check HD out and see what I can come up with. Thanks Ace Dale |

HD runs sales every now and then but from past experience I think I will order them right off the net from someplace justblinds.com or similar! The prices are better and the turn around is quicker! HD eventually gave me a discounted price due to them not being shipped when they said they would which ultimately meant they were late getting here! Ace |
