My 4905 has no fuel gauge. Is that normal? I really would like to have one. I assume that one can add one fairly easily? Suggestions? Kevin 1970 PD-4905 |

fuel gauge was an option. I lived without one on mine for 2 years just kept good records of fuel mileage and new when to fuel up by odometer |

id like to know also, i presently figure my milage and figure it alittle low. i also put my genset fuel line above floor so when genset shuts off i need fuel. but i figure 140 gallons X 8 mpg = 1120 miles. i normally would stop for fuel at 800. but i would like a gauge also. |

I'm about to install a new 7.5KW guardian quietpack genset. That's the other reason for wanting to know the fuel level. I may need to start another thread for this but, What's the best way to plumb into my main tank for my genset fuel line? |

I removed the filler tube from the tank and drilled a hole in it and tapped in a fitting, then inserted a steel line 3/4 of the way into the tank, then teed into the return line, worked great. ran flexible fuel line to the gen set Frank allen 4106 |

The fuel gauge can be added, mine had a round blank in the top of the tank , i got a gauge and sender from JC whitney and put it in, there are many gauges that will fit Frank Allen |

as an added not, i also ran a line from front 25 gal aux tank to the main 140 gal tank. so i can have a total of 165 gallons. I travel NASCAR curcit and FL is awful for fuel. i try to fill up in GA at exit 2 and go down and back and run genny before filling up in FL. |

Frank, I'm sorry if this is stupid, I'm a noobie at all this. Explain what exactly the steel line does and what the tee in the return line does. Thanks, Kevin |

Keven, the steel line is a pick up line to supply fuel to the gen set, the tee is in the return line going back to the tank from the detroit, i put a tee in the line to also run the fuel back to the tank from the gen set. hope i have made this a bit more clear. If you leave the pick up steel line up off the bottom of the tank about 10 inches the gen set will stop running before the 8/71 does. Frank allen |

Frank, That's what I was thinking, I just wanted to clarify. The genset I'm using is a smaller one. I don't know if it'll have a return line or not. You wouldn't happen to have a picture of the plumbing (the pickup tube and fittings on the filler neck) would you? Thanks!! |

We can help out with the gauges & senders. Lots of options. Sender that drops in from the top or the side. 12v or 24v, etc.... Let me know if you have specific questions. Rich 800-468-5287 |
