What are you doing, picking up a bus? I'll be in Tampa during that period. I'm not 100% sure of what my schedule is going to be, I'll be in Tampa for work. I'll be somewhere between Tampa and Brandon. I *MAY* be available in the evening. That would mean dropping you at a hotel or something, and you'd have to make the last mile on your own the next morning. I don't know what they have for motels out there. Put me down at the bottom of your list for help, just above a taxi bill for 90 miles. I don't know what the Greyhound route is like. I had a quick look at their site, and it seems there's one that runs down I-75, that you can catch in downtown Tampa. You could get off in Punta Gorda. That still puts you 25 miles from Arcadia. Amtrak does run through the middle of the state, but not on that side. There's a small airport in Arcadia, but I doubt there's anything other than private air traffic. I always stayed around the Tampa/St.Pete/Brandon area, and smaller cities to the North. I'm not sure I've even been to Arcadia before, but it's perfectly possible. I only lived in the area for about 20 years. |

If you're going to Arcadia, why aren't you flying into the Sarasota/Bradenton International Airport? It's only 50 miles from Arcadia, instead of 100 from Tampa... |

If you need an Arcadia motel, try Best Western (863-494-4884)or Economy Inn (863-494-2915). Best Western is the motel of choice for Bussin' Rallies. These 2 are closer than the Holiday Inn Express (863-494-5900) which is on the east side of town near the WalMart. Jack |

I'll bet it is cheaper to fly into Tampa than Sarasota. For the heck of it, I checked prices from MSP to Sarasota vs Tampa for 15 days from now. $70 more to fly to Sarasota. I'm actually looking at flying to South Florida next week to look at three coaches, one in Arcadia, one in Orlando, and one in West Palm Beach. I can get cheap flights with three to four days notice on Sun Country to Fort Meyers, Orlando, or Tampa. Each one would be about $300 or so round trip. I will need to rent a car and put on a few miles to see all three coaches. Brian Elfert |

Major rental companies in Florida allow drop off anywhere in Florida. I tried rent at Tampa March 15, Return Ft. Myers March 17 and found lots of availability for $77 and up for two days (plus outlandish taxes and fees of course). Also one day rates at half that price. You are probably having trouble finding an Arcadia drop off. If you are near a Southwest Airlines terminal, they are best if there are any changes of plans. No fee for change. Your money stays available for one year. Economical one way fares and good service. No wonder they make a profit. They fly to Tampa, Orlando, Ft. Myers, West Palm Beach and Ft. Lauderdale. |
