Ok, while looking at Bluebirds on ebay, I came across this... oh man I hope this guy isn't a BNO fan... this's gotta be the "hogliest" (and maybe "heaviest" thing I've ever seen done to a bluebird...or any other bus for that matter...
click here for more amazing photos and construction...techniques...??? ...it gets better... click here |

Just think take it across the border and who knows how much dinero you could come home with! LOL I almost betcha as fugly as it is it'd make it all the way with out breaking down! BK If it's that fugly it'd have to run good! |

2x6s, 2x4s and looks to me like some 2x8s in the roof. This is a house built on a bus frame! I sure would like to know what this thing weighs now even without any interior furnishings?? Will the little 5.9 Cummins pull this monster? Will it tip over on a curve? |

How much money does it take to turn a $3k bus into a pile of C*** ? Evidently $9k (and a church bus to boot) |

"It needs the lights hooked up. It needs the mirrors put on. Other than that, she's totally ready for the road. The interior is not done yet. The aluminum skin is new, and we got a deal on different colors, so we planned on painting it when it's done. " "Other than that, it's totally ready for the road. " BARRRR HAR de HAR HAR. This is a great example why many campgrounds refuse to take "bus conversions". |

Sell it down in Louisiana...good for temporary housing and if the next hurricane takes it away, no big loss.Or sell it to Dave for his fool bus idea.Lot's of room for the composter. |

I would absolutely love to know how much this “bus” – if you can still even call it that – weighs. I’d be amazed if after being “converted” it doesn’t exceed GVW. Gusc, I’m with you. The first time somebody takes a decent turn with this thing – it’s all over with. No one in their right mind would frame a bus – especially a small bus – out of wood like that. I’m sure there’s a single word that describes my reaction to this appalling act of an overzealous bus converter but I’m just not sure what it is . . . Matt 1979 Silver Eagle Model 05 |

This guy was advertising this Frankenstein on a skoolie group. On the link that is posted above you can see more photos of the "conversion" which make me more nervous. It even got drenched from a huge rainstorm during construction. |

John Roan..... well both Johns actually (oops? did I just come up with a new idea for this thing! A Bordello maybe!!!!???? LOL) Awe ya'll lighten up on da ol' Cajun christian who started this thing and then took a good look at it one day an said "Oh my GAWD, what in TARNATION have we done?" After all he's come somewhat to his senses after all he ditched and bought one alredy finished! Besides "Boogiethecat" has a softspot for SKOOLIES that are mechaniclly unsound! This could be a new start for him and think how it would go over in Tijana! I'll bet yo could set it up where five familys could share it! LOL! or as I said above a bordello and with a tall roof like that theres definatley room for the Donkey show! |

That poor old bus. It was driving along the road and around a curve it went and boom. It hit a log truck full of spruce. After the dust settled there it was, the spruce goose of the road. |

It is sad, that poor old bus, because even if you wanted to redo it properly, there's no longer a real roof on the thing to redo it with! It totally blows me away what some people will do, carrying "your way" to extremes, especially when they are obviously good in a few trades but apparently clueless in some important areas of expertise (in this case structure, preferred methods of construction, general sensibility). Maybe all they wanted to do was drive it 10 miles, run it down the side of a caynon and plant it permanently as a living space. Well then, why not just build a house on the ground with all that wood instead of screwing up a perfectly good bluebird!!! Believe me, I will definitely be using it as an example for the makeover of my bluebird... of what NOT to do!! |

My question is why in the world did they use wood to build the roof raise? I would think the vibration would cause everything to loosen up over time. They at least had the sense to use metal on the part sticking out in front. Is anyone actually stupid enough to pay more than a few hundred for this thing? Bran Elfert |

Hello Gary, and I think.... thank you? This is absolutely, well, I don't know the right words. Well meaning, inspired, good craftsmanship, followed by absolutely rotten research. I feel badly for someone. I don't know who, but badly for someone. happy coaching! buswarrior |

That looks like a '59 Caddy to me Dave, check the fins. From my memories of my Grampa's car, I'd say that mural's about life sized (that car was HUGE). Sorry waste of a good bus. The Bird was really pretty nice when he started on it. Casper |

From the surrounding vegetation I would say that picture was from somewhere around here in Florida. Yeah, It's got Caddy Fins, VW Bug Pleated Convertable top too.. Looks like a Blonde in the passenger seat too! I would like to see the manager of a K.O.A. trying to decide whether to let the guy in or not.. Probably laughing for 20 minutes first! |

Bus looks to me like a cheap starter (no more than a couple hundred buckeroos). Take all that crap wood off, then you can design whatever you desire. With the roof gone, the bus design is an open slate. Dunno about the floor though, probably take that out too. (no nails????? damn). it does not seem much worse than raising a roof on an Eagle and fixing all the rust as you go. Difference here, is you cant hear the rust falling on the ground in the mid of the night. Put in a fireplace and all that crap wood would make good firewood. But those overhangs got to go. I think they are illegal, they protrude beyond the bumpers, big no no. Have to hang a flag on the butt end all the time to be legal there but aint no way to make the front legal. Yeah, these guys came from a real think tank. Maybe Winnebaggio should hire them as consultants. Imagine the slide out they can come up with. Maybe even add an eleiovator to the second floor. Man, what can one say...... Crane |
