Hello. Does anyone have a copy of the book that Bill Teal wrote on converting the 730 transmission to accept the VS28 overdrive? I've searched and his msn group is closed. I'm interested in doing this conversion. Any info is appreciated!

I just finished building the O/D unit into my GM 5303. I am repowering it so I won't know the outcome till about May. It wasn't easy to do but I put it on a 6V92TA DDECIV and a V731 ATEC. I am concerned that when I engage the O/D unit the tranny might downshift as it is electronic and senses the road speed via a pick up in the tail section of the tranny. Time will tell. Bill |

Maybe you can put an electrical interrupt in the downshift signal wire at the trans when in OD. I'm planning to build one myself; just need to gather up all the parts.Would sure like to know how anyone elses has held up before I start. |
