I am writing for a friend who has a 1970 MCI bus. He has a four bladed 24
volt fan mounted on the dash and would like to put in a new variable speed
or three position switch but doesn't know the amperage draw of the fan. Can
you tell me what the amp draw might be?

Go to NAPA and get a defroster control rheostat. Specifically designed for this type load and it even has an indicator light. Make sure you put in a 24 volt bulb. It will probably have a 6 volt or 12 volt bulb installed.
