Hi All I want to put these lights (on link below the clear light behind door, not clearance) on the outside of my coach near the fourth bay (water-electric) area so if I need to hookup at night, I have plenty of light. I have been unsuccessful in finding the manufacturer, anyone know? http://www.prevost-stuff.com/kip-6.JPG Thanks for the help Rob 91 LeMirage XL Missouri |

It is a cargo bed light from a mid-70s or early 80s vintage Chevrolet pickup truck. (Really -- I'm not kidding.) I'm sure if you ask around someone can tell you which one. Back in the 90's these were all the rage among professional converters such as Marathon, because they have a nice finished appearance. When I was looking into an outside light for my coach, I also wanted to know where these came from. I ended up at a Chevy dealer, and it requires three separate part numbers (not including the bulb) to put one together. IIRC, it was about $60 for the whole shebang. I ended up using a halogen "scene light" made for emergency vehicles. If you are still interested in these, I can probably dig around and find the Chevy part numbers somewhere. -Sean http://OurOdyssey.US |

Wouldn't it be easier to go to a salvage yard and get a couple of the whole assemblies for next to nothing? Personally I like the marine style docking lights, that some coaches have it gives them a high end look at a low cost!BK |

Docking lights are nice, but usually require holes to recess them. The more common license plate lights, or marker lights fitted with clear lens', are easier and cheeeeper. |

I have these on my coach and I can tell you they are close to useless. If I need light I turn on the halogen lights mounted on the side of the coach to aid in cornering at night. They throw out so much light they work a whole lot better than the light you are talking about. |

Back-up, and floods for cornering and parking, are great. But if all one needs are some decent lights to get things hooked up (or drained) in darkness at the campsite, flooding your neighbors with halogen heat won't make you all too popular.... The small license plate lights work quite well, for that. www.taillightking.com #38665 Just mount it with the clear side down. |

I'd check with H3Jim, as I remember, he knew the product code # from Prevost. Good luck, MArk |

Thanks for the vote of confidence, but while I have my Prevost parts book, I do not have numbers for these lights. In truth, I too am looking for a light to put on the outside of my coach for entry lighting. As usual, there are some good ideas here, thanks. |
