I HAVE A 1980 MC-9
THE RUN WIRE ON MY KEY SWITCH HAS A DEAD SHORT
THE WIRE IS MARKED BLUE YELLOW 100 AND HAS A METAL TAG 55. DOES ANY ONE NOW WHERE THE RUN WIRE RUNS TO IN THE BACK,TO THE REAR J BOX OR REAR START BOX
I HAVE LOOKED AND CAN'T FIND IT. I ORDERED THE SEVICE MANUAL

There's a remote start box to the upper-left of the engine,
in the engine compartment. There's no direct connection
between your your key switch and the starter, it goes
through the front box, the rear box, the remote start box, etc.,
before it sees the starter.

At the remote start box, flip the switch to "off", and see if
you lose the short. With the key off, mine won't start from
the rear.. I do not know if they are all configured like that.
But in the "off" position, the key start won't do a thing.
