I was actually going to come over from Deland but didn't think that I could be much help as I know nothing about a 4104 or 4106 whichever it is.

I figured that Pete was closer and he would see the note. I am 30 miles away to the West.

Not been feeling real good today either.

Ian -- Can you help

Is there a way to start a "HELP LIST" on your BNO ?

A "BNO ASSIST LIST"

I also belong to a Classic GMC Motorhome Group - you know- the sleek looking M/H with the front wheel drive Toronado Engines - A guy named ROGER BLACK = started something called the "BLACK LIST" - a kind of "help" list - It's just a list of names and phone #s of people willing to help other Classic GMC M/H in trouble - the list is now HUGE - almost every state and province is covered - it's amazing - and it works. I know - I've used it and I've helped others - It doesn't matter if you don't know which end of a wrench to hold - you do know the local area - where the Walmarts/Autozones are - if there are any good Mechanics around - help doesn't have to mean getting dirty - just a frendly voice that knows where to send a guy in trouble in a strange place - so the more of us that put our name on the help list the better - kind of think of it like "Paying Forward" - willing to help another bus Nut in trouble

All,

Back in 2003, this idea appeared here on the board.

As then, I have a whole bag of reasons why our viewership should not place all their personal information on this public board. The nature of the world wide web is such that anyone could be watching. Anyone.

With the print media, such as has been suggested, namely The Coach-Builder's Bulletin and FMCA magazine, although anyone can subscribe or pick up a stray copy, the nature of the subscription is such that there is a similar and like audience for the most part.

That said, I am unsure of my personal liability in publishing or allowing to be published such a list. In response, the many opinions expressed here were so varied that, right or wrong, it confirmed my fears.

Bottom line is, we have lost a number of friends here on the board over the years and that's hard enough to cope with, but to ever hear of one who was harmed because a person learned of a name, address and telephone number from a list published here... well, it's not going to happen. Not paranoia, just calculated caution.

Pete, no, the publications are not free, but that's a choice all will have to make. Thousands invested in my bus vs. knowledge to save me from spending thousands of dollars in mistakes. Your choice.

However, Pete, your suggestion is not without significant merit. To speak to this issue, I have added a field in "Edit Profile" (in the left sidebar) which allows anyone wishing to assist others, a box in which they can leave their contact information.

Hi All

Morgan and I replaced the frayed 1/8 s/s cable this morning - we improvised clamping the cable ends by using 1" heater hose clamp over the turnbuckles and threading back the cable at 180 degress - cause the replacement cable does not have the same type of 90 degree striantions(sp??) that would allow the OEM clamping device

all seems to be well - we even removed all the helper spring that have been added over the years to compensate for the sticking cable - the pedal is a lot easier now

I@N

Thanks - I understand - hope I didn't cause a problem

It's a shame that it's come to this in these crazy times - liabilities / cyber creeps and such

But John MC9 is right (don't let it go to your head boy) - when people are in trouble - if they post here on BNO that they need help - that works - and may be the way to go -

But perhaps we can do something about the "service / parts source" part of the list

???? -

Thanks again I@N - for your great service
