Has anyone run a Coleman Super Mach 13,500 A/C with a Trace2500 (2649?) with 4 4-d batts. and coach 300 amp alt? Wondering if inverter would start and run A/C for a short time while engine was off.

Should work but probably close to max load on the inverter, It will need lots of cool air.

I ran my duo-therm brisk air 15,000 btu on my Heart 458 3000 watt (12-volt) at 150+ amps draw in a test once with 3 lifeline 4d agms.

Just be careful ...

I run a 15,000 BTU air with a Trace SW2512 with no problem, it only draws 9 amps @ 120v (according to the load reading on the Trace). It can run off the house batteries but would run them down pretty fast. What model Trace are you looking at? There is no "2649". The numbers for Trace inverters usually give you the watts followed by the voltage-- a 2512 is 2500 watts using 12 volts. I highly recommend the SW2512 over the modified sine wave inverters. To take full advantage of the inverter with large loads install the biggest size cables at the shortest distance between the batteries and the inverter. Don't forget the fuse!

I went down and looked...it is a U2624SB. Modified sine wave with built in charger. Also how big of one would it take to run two airs of the same size as prev stated? Mainly interested for air on the road without running generator.

John,

You may want to verify the ratings on that Inverter it's not even listed and could be a european 220 volt 50 hz unit.

Check the data plate for input voltages and output voltages and frequency.

Or just could be something oddball.

It's not oddball-- it is the original "U" series that Trace made their reputation on but are no longer made. He has a 2600 watt, 24v modified sine wave inverter. Trace claims these units can run at full load without overheating so it should be able to run two roof airs with no problem.

Ahh.. Sorry..
Just checking, I got burned for $600+ on a Vanner 3600 watt 24 volt unit turned out to be a 240 volt 50 hz and even though new (old stock) they "vanner" treated me like a bum and worse.
at 101 lbs it makes a nice doorstop.

Older model numbers can be tricky sometimes.

Thanks...

Ebay? Maybe someone in Mexico would like one?

Too bad, Doc. It's like the 600lb Matco torque wrench (click-type)
I bought a few weeks back... It's only for right hand thread....

I may make a floor lamp out of it....

Saaay... That vanner would make a nice base for it....

Umm..Drdave...what would you give for a 3 HP European 240V 50hz motor? It would go nicely with your Vanner. Build an electric dash air or something?
No joke..I was given two new DeWalt DW746X table saws that were built for the German market. Germany don't want'em. WW Grainger sells the correct 110/60 hz motor so I converted one. Really nice bus building item. Still got one unconverted in the crate. I could supply two of the European motors to go with your Vanner!
You can have it for UPS Ground shipping if you want it.

I got all RH lugs on my bus. Been looking for a used wrench like you have. How much for the "useless" torque wrench? Really the question should be...just how used is it? I know what they cost new.
All my manuals state that the LH side of the bus has LH threads...it don't. NJT does things their way.
If it's used and reasonable, let me know.

I suspect that my wife would start asking "more" questions and I would get into more trouble:-)

I appreciate the offer but I am running out of room and physical time and ability to fiddle around too much. I already have way too many projects.

We have a genetic defect around here. It's called collect stuff and never throw anything away.

Dave...

Yeah. As you may guess...I got a similar problem. Not a problem here because all of my "stuff" is out of sight (more or less) in the barn! I priced a dumpster the other day...that ain't happening. I'm gonna take the loader and dig a hole and bury some of this crap..the German motors included! I dunno, they do make rather solid door stops. JR

JR:
You could use a 110:220 step-up transformer and run the motors on 60 cps. they'll run 1/6th faster but that's worst case scenario.
When I was in the service stationed in Germany we ran our 110V stuff on their power using a 220:110 stepdown transformers, the motors ran 1/6th slower.
