Could be because its a "day coach" - no beds.

I'd like to be parked between him and the dumpster when he hollows it out.

Maybe that just the sellers way of getting others to look close and allow them to create the notion of "getting a deal" in our minds greedy parts? Seems to have worked on a few of us!

I do not see a kitchen! I made a horrible mistake a few years ago. Flew from LA to Jacksonville to buy a coach. I was sure it was everything I wanted. When I got there I discovered no cooking facilities. It had been converted primarily for tail gate parties at football games. Live and learn.

I would be cautious about a seller that has 1) sold nothing on EBay, 2) wants 10% wired within 2 days and 3) can't spell diesel correctly!

That is if I could even make the down payment!

Steven has it right.

He's never bought or sold anything with this account. That's a big red flag. He *COULD* be a new person on eBay, and never happened to do anything, but I'd be VERY cautious.

The 10% worries me too.

This sounds screwy:

"I am currently waiting on a quote to redo the interior. Please note that I am selling this coach locally and reserve the right to end this auction if it is sold. I will also raise the reserve if the refurb is completed before the end of the auction."

So, he's asking $260k to start, and may bump up the reserve as much as he'd like to make the bidding go as high as possible.

I'd read that as a scam.

I get the distinct feeling that when you wire $30k to his account (offshore, I'd be willing to bet), you wouldn't hear anything more from him.

Read up on the Nigarian scams. This sounds like the same kind of character.

Use the "send the seller a message" button to create a paper trail and state that if you bid your only willing to make a $100 deposit via paypal to cover his listing fees and the balance when at the time of title transfer you won't bid till you get a response via ebay that your terms are acceptable, then your covered well. Also ask for a location address and hire someone for a prepurchase inspection before you bid.

I have no intention of purchasing this bus - way out of my budget - and I prefer Eagle's anyways. I'm kind of paranoid of buying any bus that I can't tear apart and convert myself and I would NEVER buy anything from an eBay seller with 0 feedback.

<sarcasm> . . . I've already seen too much . . . </sarcasm>

We all have different ideas of what's "Acceptable". I have a 4104 that was converted back in the late 70's, and I'm currently fixing little electro-gremlins and trying to get the 8-track player out of the entertainment center without damaging anything.

The interior would qualify as "comfortable, dated and a little ratty". I've spent a couple of nights in it, and I like it. Some people would consider it unacceptable.

If this seller is in the business of leasing tour coaches to Celine Dion, he may consider it unacceptable, at least for his business.

Another theory,,,
