Hi folks, Gotta mark this in your "Favorites" folder - Bus Conversions is testing a live version of a beautiful new bulletin board system, complete with archiving and a myriad of fun features. The new bulletin board is at www.busconversions.com/bbs and well worth a look. Though not totally in service at this point, it does promise to be the best replacement for the old variation of the famous Matt Wright wwwboard that gave board moderator Phil Lyons fits trying to keep bug-free. Great work, Phil, by the way. Welcome to the world wide funky crazy archive feature. If you want, I'm happy to lend you my "Feelings Box"... you may need it in the near future :-) Folks, please visit Bus Conversions (always available as a link from our "BNO Links" page) to see why they continue to be #1 in this little hobby of ours. Congratulations to MAK, Phil and the gang at Bus Conversions for a job well done! Ian www.busnut.com |

You truly are a gentleman, I@n. Don't you change this software though. Even tho sparse, it's one of my favorites. |

Ian, I second Chuck's comment, this board is so easy to use. This and MAK are the only two I visit. Keep up the good work. The old MAK takes agonizingly long times to go back and forth from posts to the list so I hope the new one is much faster. |

I@N, it does not get much more gracious than this. You are a true gentleman. Richard |

All these guys are right IAN. Your board is a fine board and it is run exquisitly. You are a fine gentleman for including us in your little part of the internet and doing such an incredible job at it. There are such few problems here and the archive is wonderful. I have always felt welcome here with these fine fellows that have caught the highly contageous BUS NUT virus that is around. I gave up on MAK a while back, the board had been constantly messed with and crashing and absolutly no archive. He needed a new board for a very long time but I don't need that board anymore with BNO being so efficient. You are a gentleman and fine person to mention a "competitors" bbs on your fine board. Thanks so much for all the effort and the time that you put into this masterpiece. It is truely a work of art. CDane |

I@n The best feature of this board, is the informal attitude and the down home hospitality. New and old bus crazed fools are treated the same. No-one has to be an "expert"... all they have to do is participate; contribute their own thoughts freely, regarding any topic. I don't see too much "humor" on the Mak board.. But I do see the same questions posted there, go totally unanswered, or the totally wrong answer provided. You've achieved perfection here, I@n, and a following that will outlive the buses we own. Thank you. (happy 4-1-2006) |

"No-one has to be an "expert"... all they have to do is participate; contribute their own thoughts freely, regarding any topic." That is "good"? I feel sorry for the people that are trying to get correct information for their questions on these boards. They get so much B.S. they don't know what to believe. --Geoff '82 RTS AZ |

Ian...you know well what I have said previously about this board...it remains as previously stated, the best board on the net....albeit, it has changed a bit in recent times. Thanx for the heads up....and for a great board! IMHO RCB '64 Crown Supercoach (HWC) |

I feel sorry for the people that are trying to get correct information for their questions on these boards. They get so much B.S. they don't know what to believe. " Hmmm.... I've watched quite a few "experts" here, get shot down for doling out incorrect information, by some of the newer, "inexperienced" contributors (and on the MAK board as well!). The Telco companies offered fantastic early retirement incentives to all the older, more experienced employees... Why? Because the older employees became "dead wood", unwilling to learn new technologies and procedures... especially so, if the information was coming from new (and younger) employees... With all respect, Geoff.... Great ideas can come from the least likely sources. When we stop listening to those around us, we become deafened to the call of innovation and improvement. (Sorry, but I'm not a lock-step guy) |

Perhaps the people that are "freely giving out their thoughts" should identify their advice as untested theories. Innovation and improvement are good, untested theory is B.S., and the tried and true are what works. When someone asks a simple question on this board he should be given factual information, not unqualified opinions and untested theories. There are times when people honestly give advice that is incorrect, but hopefully someone else is able to step in and correct it. That is way it is supposed to work. --Geoff '82 RTS AZ |

Stepping in with the intent to correct is frequently the genesis of a flame war cuz one side ain't listening and thinking! In my experience, Geoff's one of the guys you don't have to worry to much about 2d opinions, |

Thanks, Marc. I have learned not to waste my time and energy on flame wars. And if someone sends me a personal email that is a flame or suspected flame I ignore it, a lot of times I won't even read it. Like I said I feel sorry for the newbies who have to figure out what is going on, and worse yet, pick the wrong heroes. --Geoff |

Geoff, I have to agree with you 100% and it really shocks me sometimes to see some of the newbies determine that someones advise is like it is carved in stone. Unfortunately, a few who post here provide some very misleading of absolutely incorrect information as it it were gospel and they have never had any actual direct experience at all. Sometimes I feel the information is taken off a $hithouse wall. To me the biggest help would be if a poster would first identify himself and then indicate it the information is directly from his personal experience, or is just something repeated from somewhere else.
