I am really having a problem getting a streight answer on this one. I have a 2001 RAV4 with an automatic transmission. The owner's manual says its ok; I have an e-mail from Toyota saying its ok; and a dealer showed me a repair manual that says its ok. But there are other people that say it's not ok. Does anyone know for sure?? |

The Manual, the dealer, and the manufacturer all say it's OK. Who are those "other people"? Martians? Illegal aliens? "Busnuts"? "MAK Board contributors"? |

No. A different dealer, and a Web article saying which cars can be towed 4 down and which cannot. I don't know who to believe. |

A quick Google for "tow a 2001 RAV4" gives some info for and against towing 4 down. The general consensus seems to be, to add and use a Remco lube pump. It's the easiest way to tow any automatic, 4 down. If there's any doubt about believing the manual, dealer and manufacturer, use the Remco... |

So what did those that say nay indicate the problem would be, what was the damage they experienced when they repaired this model after it had been towed? What do they know that the manufacture doesnt about the design? If they don't care to answer, then I would be inclined to show them the Toyota email print out that you are saving for with your "warranty card" |
