There's a good picture of the bus after the accident. There's something to say for the mass of a bus, for the safety of the passengers, in an accident. Based on their site, I'd guess the bus was a Prevost H3-45. http://www.pacificcoach.com/ http://www.cbc.ca/story/canada/national/2006/04/14/bus-driver060414.html -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A bus driver was thrown through the windshield of his vehicle when it ran into a light standard in suburban Vancouver Friday morning, according to witnesses. The Pacific Coach Line bus was travelling to the Vancouver ferry terminal when the accident occurred. One of the passengers on the bus told Global TV that after the driver was ejected, he came back on the bus to check on passengers. Officials said at least nine people were slightly injured and taken to a local hospital. The other passengers were put on another bus. |

when talking to the ex shop foreman this morning he said that the bus was a HD 3-45 and that it was a passanger that was sitting in the front seat that was thrown through the windshield this is different than the news paper report. |

Umm, not Bus vs SUV. Bus vs Concrete!! The bus hit a light pole standard in the Vancouver suburbs. In other words, it hit a concrete abutment that a light pole sits on. |

I guess that shows how accurate the newspaper can be. When I posted it, there were only two sites carrying the story, and they said exactly the same thing. Was the ejected passenger ok? |

yes the passenger was just shaken up however once the law suite group get a hold of him it may turn out to be major . but he picked himself up off the ground and went back to the bus and helped with the other people, but none were hurt bad however we know this will change. just goes to show yo are a lot safer in a bus than you are in sticks and glue even if you donot use door to get out. it sure must have been one heck of a flight through the opening pushing the windshield in front of you, |

I am wondering why and how the tow truck drive has the bus hoisted 4 feet in the air with what looks like a wheel lift and wondering if the tail isn't scraping the pavement? |

Truthhunter yes the wrecker has the front axle lifted with forks on his under reach and has it that high probably at the authorities request so they can get a good look under it! You can rest assured it will be lowered before transporting it as it would be dragging the rear as you state, and also would be hung on the first overpass with the front so high! Just from experience of operating tow trucks most of my life! Busted Knuckle |
