Thank you everyone for your suggestions regarding the blinds/shades for front windshield. I am still researching the info. I was shopping online at JoAnn fabric's and wasn't able to find the fabric that is pleated as I was kind of leaning towards that direction. Is there a specific name for this type of fabric? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you! Cindy |

Oh you want pleats? Hmm, in our Eagle we had pleated shades/curtains that were hand made by my own, Susan. All I know is it took her a while and a lot of work on her part. That's one reason why we opted for factory made in our new conversion! Ace |

We bought ours at JoAnn Fabric, and at Lowes, but you can find them elsewhere as well! http://www.redishade.com/fabric.html Where to buy 'em? http://www.redishade.com/wheretobuy.html As far as how we used 'em? (lemme cut & paste this from the udder thread): "Those nice pleated fabric shades you see in the commercially made motorhomes can be bought from Camping World. You can make your own (as we did for both our last RVs), using pleated fabric "quick shades", purchased at Jo Ann Fabrics or similar stores. (Home Depot and Lowes, and Walmart carry the paper ones, but may be able to order the fabric ones as well). The pleated shades can be drilled on one end (while tightly compressed between two blocks of wood), allowing them to be hung vertically (sideways) using a rod or roller-rail. I reinforced the holes, using brass eyelets... But of course, they also can be hung as-is, in the horizontal state (up/down). The Camping World ones cost around $80 each, plus the hangers.... The Fabric "Quick Shades" are around $5 each. " By using some imagination, you can save a ton, and still have it look like a million. |

Those are the "fancy" ones, John ($$). The ones we used are the fabric "Ready Shade" type. They're designed for temporary use, and are toss-away priced. They look as good as the pricey ones and probably last as long, but at about 1/10 the cost. The fabric ones will outlast the paper ones, so I wouldn't bother hanging the paper ones unless you just want to see what it'll look like. We had the paper ones on a cpl windows for about a month, until the store got more of the fabric ones in. |
