NAPA/Pep Boys?/Autozone/speed shops/auto parts stores, etc. Ask/look for muffler bandage. Or if you don't want to leave the house, try the internet. It used to be asbestos now its fiberglass. ED |

Here is a description of wet blanket, the inventor, who lives in California, used to sell them but I did not find a source on the internet. (Engine Heat Protection - Wet Blanket) A space age material used for insulating components from unwanted heat sources. Cosmetically it duplicates the appearance of asbestos, however it is a a pure ceramic material. Heat can be cut down by 5 0%. This is a very pliable product that can be molded to conform to any irregular surface or contour. When dried, it hardens, allowing it to be sawed, cut, or sanded, and is usable in temperatures to 3200 degrees F. It is supplied wet in a sealed bag. It should be stored in a cool place and kept from freezing. The kit is 1/4" thick x 8" x 24" and includes three stainless steel bands. Complete instructions are included. Years of Application: Part Number: M-96-EHP Price: $99.95 - kit Section: DETAILING-SUPPLIES |

Your plumbing and heating wholesaler has the same stuff. It is a universal firebox liner for oil burners. A lot cheaper than $100. But, I think it might be too brittle for an exhaust wrap. Exhaust wraps are available but they are much more expensive. Jim |

The heat sleeve that I need is for the flex exhaust metal hose that moves when I pull my genset out of the bay on the roll out. It's not a wrap it's more like a sock, about 3 inchs ID. Thanks Again Pat |

Hi Pat I tried finding a link for EHP who used to advertize in Bus Conversions but couldn't MSN or google it. If you have an 3-4 year old copy of BC then there maybe a link there or maybe a link on their new web site. In the interium, here is a link that looked very interesting, but I have never ordered from them. http://www.heatshieldproducts.com Rob 91 LeMirageXL Missouri |
