For folks that are getting up to speed on diesels , this Marine orented site has usefull info.

or about DD reliability when overreved or overloaded.

His experience is mostly with medium sized marine engines (300+hp) , so the section on underloading will not apply to lawn tractor takeouts like a Kubota or Yanmar ex reefer engines, used in RV noisemakers.
