I was airing up my "77 AMG with shop air the other day and the piston underneath the accelerator pedal was leaking a lot of air. When the preasure finally reached 50 psi it quit leaking. Is this normal? Also what is the small cylinder at the throttle housing on the engine (8V71N). I can see the air line for the throttle and the airline for the high idle but there is a third airline connected to a small cylinder in that housing. Anyone know? Thanks. |

Steven, I can't really repond to your accelerator leaking issue. With the buzzer going off at low-air, I really wouldn't hear a small leak like that in my air throttle to know if it was normal or not. The other air line and cylinder you see on the governor is probably the stop cylinder to shut off the fuel racks. HTH, Brian Brown 4108-216 w/ V730 Longmont, CO |

Thank you Brian for your response to my question. I do a lot more reading of this board than posting on it. There is a wealth of information to be gleaned from here and I appreciate everything that I have learned. Thank you to all for your inputs in all posts. I read all of the posts every day. Take care every one and I hope to see you all out on the road! Steve(77AMG) Conway,Ar. |
