tried to order a new by-pass thermostat from Luke and was told they were discontinued..Can I run without one? Live in Fl so usually warm enough..

I have a marine 6-71 and perhaps the parts (uses a pair) are the same.

DD# 05172141 a little under 3in diameter and about 3 in long to end of spring.

Is this what you need?
