Made window boxes that seperate the massive side windows. These will also serve as a mounting point for the day/night shades! Pretty easy and fast to do. I still have to stain the trim and wallpaper in between the corner trim. http://groups.msn.com/AceRossiMotorsports/foolsgold2.msnw?Page=2 Ace |

Don't let Ace fool you guys, I think $u$an does all of that stuff, and Ace just sits back with the pup in his lap, sips cold brews, and tells her EXCACTLY how it should be done. What a swell guy to help her out like that! ...JJ |

JJ check this out! I was actually laying in the bay and got the idea to snap this one of me cracking the whip! Well, I had to sneak out the other side to take it but you see who's boss! http://groups.msn.com/AceRossiMotorsports/foolsgold2.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=621 And there are added pics of the completed boxes with wallpaper and trim. Now to order the shades for the monster side windows. You can also see in a couple of pics of the round corners I'm making to match the rest of the cabinetry. Those will be worked on tomorrow. Those are time consuming because I have to have a firring strip on the ceiling in the exact place for the round to screw to and after it's laminated and up, another firring strip will go on the outside of the round to do two things. One is to hide the screws that hold the round, and two is to support the ceiling material when up against the round! I have thought this out for a long time and it thinks "EASY" but as I get closer to doing the ceiling, it's thinking hard! All I can do is continue on and we'll see what the outcome is. If it's wrong or doesn't work as planned or just doesn't look good, we'll try soemthing else! http://groups.msn.com/AceRossiMotorsports/foolsgold2.msnw?Page=2 Ace |

Ace, thr divider is done nicely. I did the same thing, although on the "vertical valance", I went with a wider board to accomplish tewo things. 1) to cover the unsightly exposed coner detail- you covered with a corner mould. 2.) The wider board will serve to limit your shades from swinging out from the window. Very nice work, and this is just a suggestion. Mark |

Thanks Mark for the tips. I used the 1 1/8 corner moulding in the BR and just wanted to continue on with the same. I used them back to back and it does just as you say, keeps the shades from swinging in and out. I also didn't want to use too big a piece of trim for the vertical as to shut down the size of the windows. They are very large as in 63 inches wide and 42 inches tall and we would still like to see the sights as we travel. Too much trim kind of closes everything in and looks cramped. We did that in our last conversion though it was ok, we found out waht we really wanted! Thanks again... Ace |

Ok well after some deliberation and deep thought (while trying to sleep) this is what I came up with and tried it today. This is a trial fit before any laminate. I am thinking of installing a few, not many, puck lights underneath. This round type corner is in the Br and will also be in the LR on both sides. The bathroom will have a short section to finish off the angled vanity. Very hard to miter this round to each other but as I said with some deep thought, I think it will work ok! Should look a lot better once it's laminated and UP for good! This is what I have to do while work is slow! http://groups.msn.com/AceRossiMotorsports/foolsgold2.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=626 Ace |

Ace - I wouldn't be surprised if some of the professional coach converters contact you and Susan for some advice on tasteful/functional ideas for their conversions - your bus is beginning to remind me of studies/libraries found in high end residenses - It looks like there is enough volume contained within the interior of the valances (for lack of another word) that another busnut considering copying your idea, and using basement A/C, might be able to run ducting and/or wiring within the vacant cavity - Can't wait to see what your gonna do with the ceiling, but I'm sure I'll like it - (Message edited by niles500 on June 07, 2006) |

Niles thanks but though it may be nice and confortable for Susan and I, it's definitely not THAT high end worthy of having the pros contact me! Yes it is starting to look a little like the libraries in some big money homes or lawyers offices. Never realized that but hey, maybe I can unload it in the future to a lwayer with big bucks! Those rounds that I'm putting up would indeed be a nice place to have a duct for a/c or wiring for that matter! If I had planned it that way, I would have done that instead of in the walls! Yea as far as the ceiling goes? Me too! Ace |
