In a previous thread someone suggested to me that I get an AIMS 5kW inverter (10kW surge) which you can buy new for only $550 or so.

I've been thinking about getting one as a secondary inverter, mostly for running my second A/C when needed, but for other large loads as well. I'll probably have an Outback, Trace or Magnum as my main inverter.

But even as a secondary inverter... $550 seems like too good of a deal. Are these things part of the "you get what you pay for" school, or is this a good basic inverter for occasional use?

Anyone have any AIMs experiences to share?

My main inverter will likely be Trace, Magnum or Outback - around 4kW or so. That should cover most of my electrical needs as well as one A/C unit.

I use an aims 10,000 as my only inverter, works fine. Never tried to run air for any amount of time, only a few minutes just to try it, It is my second coach and second aims. works for me. MIGHT NOT work for all the electronic gurus, but I live in my coach and It works for ME. BUY IT YOULL LIKE IT!!!!!!!!!!!! Bill 340
