Today a guy stoped at the Harley shop asking if I wanted to sel my bus. I said I never realy thought about it and showed it to him. he`was highly interested and I told him $30,000 finished or $25,000 as is.He said he's coming back friday. If he wants it I'm not sure I want to sell. What should I do? |

You could take a fake ad out on BNO - I'll give it to you for free - advertize it for $60k, tell the potential that he missed the boat by a day, but that you'll part with it for $50K since he's a nice guy and showed an interest in it yesterday, then you and I can split the $20K difference. Supply & Demand, if your not sure you wish to sell it (and perhaps start another right now) the price should reflect it. Nothing amoral about adjusting the price if you have not set a deal with at least a verbal contract and a deposit. Doesn't even sound like there was a deal struck yet ("I'll be back Friday"). You did tell the potential purchaser you hadn't thought about when he approached you about and asked if you would sell it if I understand correctly; which was honestly disclosing your state of duress. I just went threw a similar situation last month and can't believe I got all stressed over it. I ended up declining the offer as I was not confident I could easily replace the Coach without a loss and expensive burden on my roster. Guess that is the danger when dealing with a passion or "hobby" like FF saizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Think I'll go out to the shop and hug my bus over tea this morning and put it all behind me. |

Take your new girlfriend on that trip and see if she loves the bus. You might want to then get her opinion on selling it … especially if she looks like 2 D’s girlfriend. Did you make any more progress on the interior? It would be nice to see pictures of your progress. I like that metal plate on the counters and other “real man “ look you had going on in there. You might have to put some flowery drapes or something in there for the new girlfriend. Post some more pictures…. since you got a new girlfriend… maybe your bus is a “chick magnet”. I might need some ideas if I get a Mid-life crisis. |

Greg - If you decide to have a midlife crisis I'm afraid you'll have to chop your bus and turn it into a convertible - I hope this doesn't give any one any ideas! |

Now if someone would consider a fold-out instead of a slide out that might be interesting. The area from floor up would fold out into a large area and a tent top would go up lke a pop-up camper...a convertable bus???? I like it... |

"Supply & Demand," rules! The supply of handy coaches is NO longer growing , but the demand remains the same. FMCA most recent issue only had ONE classic GM for sale , years ago there were dozens & dozens. For some the hobby is bus conversion , for others its actual USE. Would guess the folks on their 3rd or 4th conversion are bus traiders , or slow learners. or simply LOVE the Process of conversion. You gotta choose WHAT your interests ya, FAST FRED |

Cap'n Ron I have my '90 Foretravel on Ebay for 28k, if you decide you really don't want to sell, send 'em there for a look see. Real "buslike" construction with monocoque construction and welded steel cage! (auction ends tomorrow) (Ian, I hope this is not too far out of order) jw |
