Nice brochure for sale one eBay. You have a few days to see it. http://cgi.ebay.com/1977-Detroit-Diesel-8V-92-Truck-Engine-Sales-Brochure_W0QQitemZ2200018 37153QQihZ012QQcategoryZ35978QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem This answers the question of what an 8v-92TT engine is and why DD built it. All the manuals I have were not clear about the TT. This also shows that the torque of the 430hp engine does not drop off as bad as some posters have indicated. The curves were done with 9290 injectors. The later model 9G90 injectors seem to be better and boost the engine to 475hp. My DD manuals do not have any torque and HP graphs for the different engine configurations. Even for current production engines the sales literature seem to have the best graphs and simple explanations as to what is cool about the new engines. It would be nice to have an old library where this kind of info could be stored. Ian why don’t you buy the poster and put a high resolution scans of it in your new library of great and ancient bus knowledge. You would then have a new board look and a great library that would then definitely beat “that other BB”. Ian, I like the new look and you do a great job keeping this board going. |
