With this NEW board, what happend to the "lost Links" link?

I still like the old format better all the way around and I know the owner can do what he wants but he can't change my opinion! :-)

Ace,

you aren't getting old, and resistant to unfamiliar things, are you?

come on hip dude, rage at the age, and embrace the new,

it will be old and familiar shortly!

happy coaching!

Nobody likes new stuff, including myself. People get used to something and they learn to use it really well and then they hate to have some of that knowledge become useless when a new system replaces the old.

I was an MS-DOS guy, and I didn't need no steenking Windows.

I loved drawing with AutoCad release 9, from the C:prompt, with a digitizer tablet.

Now I use Windows XP Professional and a whizbang 3D modeling program to do stuff I couldn't have imagined in those days - and we got there one little step at a time, and I hated every step.

Somewhere in Idaho there's a guy with a IBM 286 running wordperfect 2.0 and wondering what all the fuss is about. "Internet? whats an Internet?".

His neighbor with the Abacus thinks he's crazy.

This too shall pass guys. Today it looks really wierd, tomorrow it'll merely be a little odd, next week it'll begin to get familiar,,,

317sec with 56.6
131sec with ISDN
10sec with T1

Oh well. Anyone know the availability and cost of a T1 line?

Change blows in the midst of "Divine Wind", even if a few branches get pruned. My antiquated PC has a hard time running this new more detailed and functional format, but that is just one more need to justify the impending upgrade to a portable laptop reason.

While we often decide to not enjoy the effort to learn change until after adaptation; this is the finer edge of survival (the only meaning of life).

Thanks again for all your generous efforts Sir Ian; tis a fine example for us to observe and emulate!

John MC9,

I am on a full T1 and it's costing us about $960/month from Bellsouth with a guaranteed 99% up time. Covad was offering a similar plan for about $650/month, but we didnt care for their lengthy contract.

$960? $650? A month? Mamma-Mia!!!

Not foe me! We've sold antiques and collectibles on our
own site for quite a number of years, and all I've ever
needed is the simple dial-up account. High speed was
never a prerequisite to make a sale... I designed our
web site for slow 14.4 connects, and simple layouts for the
Web-TV clients we managed to attract...

When I need high speed to download a program or upgrade,
I drive around until I locate a WiFi connection, or I use our
Verizon Wireless' VZW network...

The T1 is fantastic to have, but I can't justify the cost, for the
type of usage I need... I'm afraid I'll have to suffer with my
5 minute wait, to see I@n's new masterpiss errrr piece, with
my lousy 41kbs connection.

Thanks for the info though, I had been curious of the price.
