Hi, I am the busnut's wife. Guess what my job is??? Yup cleaning. We are converting our bus slowly and as money allows. So we are "steel tenting". I have mopped the original floors like a dozen times in one day, and still the kids come out with black feet. Do you have any suggestions on how to get the floor clean? What can I use?

We have taken half of the luggage racks out (the back part). I would like to hang something up over the windows for nightime and for times when we are getting changed, etc. Any ideas? I still want to be able to open and use all the windows.

Thank you,
The Wife

Hubby said to tell you we have an MCI 9.

Temporary shades for all the BIG windows? Hmmm....

Those grass mats that we use on the beach cost about
a buck each. Each one is about 6' long and 36" wide.

If you hang them long-way (across the windows), they fit
fine, keep out the light, and offer great privacy for next to
zip out of the checkbook.

Just use wire attached to screws, threaded through the mat's
edge.... Slide 'em open or closed as needed...

I'm not sure what kind of floor you have now, but if black is coming off, maybe some way to seal the floor. One idea might be to put some urethane over the top, the other would be to put down your new floor. That may be vinyl or whatever.

Unless some other cleaner might work.

Unless the black is transferring to kid feet from something other than the floor.

Good luck and enjoy!

Mini blinds at walmart are about $3 for 3 ft wide. The wider mini blinds might be less economical. Bungie the bottom so they don’t swing in route. Other options are stick to the window sill with heavy duty Velcro or keep them up while traveling.

Cover the windows that you do not need with contact paper. Also, they can be partially covered with car wax or finger paint.

Floor: try to find some used wall-to-wall carpet and cut it to size. Many portions of take-out carpet are nearly new.

Here's a possibility- for the floor, you can buy the green artificail truf outdoor rug at Home Depot or Lowes cheep in 8' wide width. Thats what your bus is. Get a piece to lay down in each section of the bus and roll it out when steel tenting and roll it up when working on the interior. When you are finished with it inside, roll it out for a patio on the drivers side on the ground. I keep a piece in my bay that we always roll out at campgrounds. It keeps a lot of mess out of the bus.
For the curtains, I'd just buy some bed sheets and cut them to fit the windows and use push pins to hold them up on the wall. Fold them up and stick in a drawer when you dont need them.
Hope this helps- Chuck Lott Douglasville GA.

Thanks,
