I just can't get my 4104 with the 4 headlight upgrade to work right. I recently rewired it to clean up the previous owners hack job. The power first goes through the fog light dimmer so you can use fog lights or headlights but not both at the same time. From there to the H\L dimmer then to each H/L just like in the book. The only difference is the extra H/Beam. With the low beams on the H/B are also on but very dim. With the H/B on all are lit but all are very dim. Grounding is not the issue. so, what am I missing?

That certainly sounds like a poor ground. Are you sure you do not have of the high beam and low beam wires switched?

Bob, it almost certainly sounds like a bad ground, probably at the headlights. Here's a schematic I just drew up FWIW.

or maybe too small wire size, but sounds like poor ground, try running a 'test' wire ground back to the battery

I just realized that with four lamps, you would want the low beams on all the time. Here's mod 1, iss 2.

I've gone over the wiring a dozen times. It works the way it should with a test light and each bulb works fine by its self it's just when the H/beam is connected I get this problem. btw the low beam headlight is a combination low/high beam w/3 prongs so it's just a jumper wire from the h/beam on that light over to the other which is just a 2 prong. A ground problem was my first thought so I took the assembly back and with jumpers connected it directly to the battery and had the same problem. It's been driving me crazy for a week and I'm about ready to just eliminate the h/beam on the l/beam headlight or even tear it all out and go with a relay system but worry I'll have the same problem.

Bob, I still think it's grounding. You can see that if you removed one of the grounds it would effectively put the lights in series and if you substituted a small test light it would be in series with the large headlamp and appear to work OK. The only other thing I can think of is if you are not connecting to the right pins on the combination lamps.

Almost every time if the operation of one light affects another, it's a ground problem.

I think Len is right with his "only other thing" scenario. It sounds to me like a wiring issue causing some or all of the lamps to function in series.

Ok, I finally figured it out after a week of misery. It seems the head light plugs were mis-labeled from the factory. The labels are molded into the plastic as follows...drive, pass ,ground and guess what? the drive wires are actually the grounds. so I guess you could call it a grounding problem....lol...lesson #1... Don't always believe the labels....Thanks for the help guys, now I have some wiring to do....
