Just completed our first long trip in the bus . San Diego Ca. to Polk City Florida. She ran like a dream. didn't burn oil, drove seventy to seventy five most of the way and averaged seven mpg. Now that we are here , are there any bus nuts close to polk City/ Lakeland Fl. if so , we would love to get a chance to meet. please email us if you are relatively close and have the time and inclination to meet .
Steve and Cindi 82 mc9. if you are close and know the area , we are at Mount Olive Shores in Polk City

Hi Steve! Close to you? Uh, I'm about 10-15 minutes from Mount Olive Shores. Are you in number one or number two? Number one is the first phase and where I used to crash the gate before I owned a bus just so I could look at the conversions that were in there. There are a few other conversion nuts that live in number one that go to the rallies. One Eagle I know of owned by I think his name is Jack and a GMC owned by Bob Montgomery. You'll probably catch him witteling on a piece of wood or working on his bus! A heck of a nice guy too! Don't let on that I told you he was nice though! If you want to get together and chat sometime, let me know, but I warn you, I keep a pretty busy schedule with my regular job and my hobbies not to mention working on the bus here at home but I'm sure we can find time for a another busnut!
If you need directions on how to get to a certain place/s, feel free to call me.
My number is 863-559-9067 cell, anytime, not too late! :-)

Steve,
We live about 90 miles south of you near Arcadia. Just drive around Mt. Olive Shores (especially the first section). Most of the buses you see belong to one or more of the area FMCA bus conversion chapters and almost all are very friendly. Bob & Jinny Younkin, Tony & Sandy Manna, Jack Campbell, and Doc & Lee Engle to name a few. If you need any bus work done call Doc Engle. Last year at Bussin' 2006, there were almost 20 buses from Mt. Olive Shores, but some of them go north for the summer. Jack
