Just found a local source that has some pretty nifty puck lights. They have polished chrome and polished gold. They are about 3 inches in diameter and when mounted almost flush. They use a 12v 10 watt halogen bulb that after being on a while did NOT get what I would call hot, but more like luke warm! You can mount these directly on vinyl upholstered surfaces along with laminate or wood surfaces as well! I bought 10 today to start out with and they appear to be far better than the HD puck lights I originally installed. Not sure exactly where these will go but when I find out and install them, I'll post some pics! Ace |

Those will get hot. The housing will seem cool but the center section can generate enough heat to discolor wood and plastics. I would recommend maybe a nice metal backing plate to mount the fixtures on instead of mounting directly to upholstered surfaces. I had a couple of the 10 watt actually get hot enough to melt the bezels after being on for some time. I have also had the U.V. Glass crack and shatter with hot glass raining down. Just be careful... |

Hmm, that's strange because these actually came from a professional converter that uses them in almost every conversion and re-do that they do. They have them pre-made in upholstered panels and pre finished wood panels. They told me that they also install them directly in the upholstered ceiling. I had one on for a pretty long period and though warm to the touch, it NEVER got hot like the halogen 20 watters I have! Ace |

Rob, youcan get them from a place called: Classic Coach Works located in Lakeland, Florida Thier number is, 863/510-0017 Thier web address is: www.classiccoachworks.com They really don't get hot either but I have another question regarding hooking them up to a 12v source that I will ask in another thread. Hope this helps... Ace |
