From Nashville?...I would love to have it shipped but it's just under 2500 miles and I can guess what that will cost...What would it cost to have someone drive it there for me?
and does anyone know what it would cost to ship?

I figure if I fly to Nashville to get it, the ticket is $450, then i'm looking at 4 days of pushing it to get to Olympia...Maybe another $400 food and hotels..I've driven this bus down from Alaska to Tulsa, to NJ, to FL and to Nashville so I know what it uses fuel wise...Around 6mpg average...so lets say $1200 for gas on top of it all...

So total to fly down and get it myself, i'm looking at just over $2K give or take.

Aside from doing it myself what are my other options and costs?

Thanks.

Sean

Sean has a MC5 as I recall - he also wrote a great travel log of his trip down from AK.

Sean - I don't see how you can do it much cheaper than going to get it yourself... seems like most people would need a return ticket to where ever they came from, and you would be looking at the same $$. It would save you a few days in the saddle, so if time is the issue and the money is a wash, maybe that would work out.

I do this for a living, move motorhomes and entertainer coaches. Monacos, Country Coach, Marathon, etc. Lots of references. You provide the insurance and I'll do it for $1.00/ mile including my transportaion. Call me Bill @ 503 789 9311.

Sean, get someone to drive with you so you can keep rolling. Maybe if you could make the trip in less time you wouldent mind doing the trip and you could keep an eye on the girl. I would love to do a trip like that.We emailed you last year about your engine and trans setup, we are in the middle of a repower with the same set up as yours. You would have to ship me to musicity and then back from wash. to Ny. When do you have to do this by?

Thanks all, for the responses...

The problem is time for me due to work..I would still have to fly to WA to link up with a friend from up here who is going to drive it back to Alaska with me.

Driving it across the lower 48, 2500 miles is going to be fun without AC!!!...I jackstrap the windows opan and open the hatches with fans going in the bus. It's fine for me.

Oh yea, I have a 79 Saudi MC5C. Good little bus.
Wow! A Buck a mile to have someone drive it, plus gas, expenses, and transpo for the driver!! I guess if ya have a Marathon that's what ya pay! I can't afford that though.

David, I remember you...What kind of bus do you have? I have to say though, if I had to repower my bus I would get a 6V92..You can find truckers take out's for a decent price. The 6V71 is a good engine though and i'm fine with it but given a choice in a repower, I would probably go a little more modern!

Sean, can you also mention whether this is a seat coach (CDL required) or titled as a motorhome? Hmmm, since you are compensating the driver, maybe I answered by own question here.

By coincidence I'll be in Nashville this Wednesday. If you needed to get it to Pennsylvania, I could help you. Anybody going from PA west?

Sean,
I emailed you at sean@seanmormelo.com. My offer is still on the table (even without air conditioner). I'm not a sissy, and can handle the heat. My price would be MUCH lower than your other offers. If I did not email you at the correct address, you may email me and I will resend the offer.

Jeff...My spam filter must have gotten your email. I'll check it now...

By the way, the Bus is titled as a motorhome and doesn't have AC...It was supposed to have worked but the bus sat for 2 years before I bought it and it doesn't blow cold. It's full of Freon though so I may get it working..However in Alaska You don't need it.

Looks like I have to physically be in Nashville to deal with some business so I may as well drive it out myself. I also have to stop and pick some stuff up for someone up here in Alaska....If anyone needs a ride let me know, you're more then welcome to tag along. Thanks.
