We have taken the instrument panel off of the dash, and need some help with trim. This part of the dash is metal, and had what looks like electrical tape as the trim work. We pulled that off and just painted it, but that doesnt look good. We cant use any trim with thickness because it wont fit. So, it seems we need a detail tape of sorts, but no one in the auto, or RV places around here has a solution for me. I cant imagine that electical tape would stick for long, so it must be something else. Any clues?

Pin striping tape for cars comes in many colors and various widths. Maybe not wide enough for you since you probably need 3/4 inch.

I just got a catalog for pinstriping tape and they have it in widts up to 6" wide. You just have to buy a whole roll, which varies from 50' to 150'.

$5 Service charge on orders less than $50.00.

www.sharpline.com No online orders, it's all done by phone.

There are several others on the internet that will do online ordering.

Get some wood grain formica, or any other pattern like apebble black finish or whatever you like and stick to the metal, cut out your holes and it will rejuvenate that tired dash panel.

Sign shops have the ability to slit larger rolls into smaller narrow pieces, you could even go to a vinyl supplier yourself and order this and choose your own colors, and yes there are a zillion colors!
