There's going to be a pretty good bluegrass festival (FastGrass) the week before the Charlotte FMCA rally. The bluegrass thingy is right across the street from Lowes Motor Speedway (Fleetwood Camping Resort). FMCA rally is going to be inside the speedway (as I understand) in the infield.
Anyone going to the FMCA/Lowes Motor Speedway Rally? I've asked this question before and so far not one single reply in the affirmative. Believe I'm gonna pass on the FMCA rally...unless some bus owner/converters are going??
Cheers, JR

I know the Converted Coach is having a pre rally at the Oasis Shrine Temple in Charlotte(supposed to be near the Speedway) begining on August 9th. You can get information on www.fmca.com

Thanks Tom, I've looked all over the FMCA website and various chapters and couldn't find anything other than the Morehead and speedway info.
Carolina Cruisers website locked up my computor...momentarily.
I'd be interested in seeing some "home-grown" conversions and meeting the converter, but half million dollar factory conversions wouldn't interest me at all.
I've posted this on several websites and have yet to find anyone going?? We'll see!
I live nearby, and may just go see what's happening...only costs $7 bucks to get inside...what the hey!
Cheerio, JR

I was planning on the Converted Coach Rally at the Shrine Temple but things come up. I have a good friend that is attending this and is planning on a large crowd. I do think most of them are GMCs. You should drop by there on August 9th - 11th and check them out.

I plan to do that. Seems as though several folk from this website are going to be present.
Interesting, this "pre-rally" concept. Never seen that before...reckon my bus'n unsophistication is leaking out!

I went to several Eagle pre-rallies and found them to be much better than the actual FMCA rally.

Many of the FMCA chapters have "Pre Rallies" and "Post Rallies". Probably because many of there members are already in the area for the FMCA Rally AND anther excuse to get together and have a party!
Pre and Posr Rallies are usually more fun because they are sponsored by a chapter. Chapters usually have a common interest such as a specific actvity (ham radio, sguare dancing, playing music, etc), a specific brand or type of RV (Monaco, Prevost,Holday Rambler, BUS CONVERSIONS, etc), or a specific area or the Country (SE Busnuts, Western GM Bus Nuts, etc.) Jack

I've mentioned this on another site, but looking thru the Pre Rallys postings indicated a Gulf Stream pre rally in Fort Mill (Carowinds Campground?) at a cost of $567. This was just the pre rally. What does one do for several days that costs $567? I'm gonna go see what's happenng at at least one pre rally. Apparently Gulf Stream's common interest is that they have too much money!

FMCA rules say that any FMCA member can attend any FMCA Chapter rally as long as there is room. One way chapters like Prevost Proud get around this is to charge exorbitant rally fees. One Prevost Proud rally had a rally fee of $600. Of course, this includied 18 holes of golf and a champagne brunch. Since I don't play golf and don't drink, I decided not to attend LOL. I guess this is to keep out the riff raff like you and me. Jack

Hate to tell you this Jack, but you're going to be in some company in Timmonsville that may...on rare occasion (celebrating the sunset) may take a drink...or two...or...you get the picture!
Regarding the "riff-raff"...Gulf Stream won't have to worry about me crashing their party! I'm not sure what sort of entertainment would satisfy me for $567! It ain't gonna be good clean fun!

That's Funny Richard I don't care who you are! LOL

Actually I got banned from the POG guys due to me voicing my opinion about thier first event cost that was held here locally.

Prevost Prouds and Pogs are one in the same. A bunch of snobs that know nothing from nothing! I doubt they even know what color their money is!

I'll stick to just going to the down home type rallies! They're cheaper and more fun!

JR,
I have no problem with anyone around me drinking. When working as a Paramedic/Firefighter, I saw several people loose a career by receiving a DUI. I decided my career was not worth the risk involed, so I quit drinking. When I retired, I decided no need to start again. Jack
