Will a V-730 bolt right up in place of the VS2-8? Its in a 1975 am general transit the modle of the bus on the title is recon. Is there any mods that need to be done? Torque convertor? or Driveline. | ||

The drive shaft is different and the V730 is quite a bit larger and may require bulkhead surgery too. You'll need to replace the flywheel with the flex plate that drives the V730. Regards Jerry 4107 1120 | ||

Also the V730 is more heavy than the VS-8. It has to have a mount for the cradle. You would have to change the shifter also. I had to have the 2 1/2 spacer ring and longer dog bone. I had my drive shaft cut and had to change the flange to the tranny. The cooling & filter plumbing is different on a V730. Dale | ||

You shouldn't have to change the differential. Although mine is a Fishbowl I didn't have to change the differential. |
