I spend about 12-15,000 dollars at Harbor Freight yearly. I'm a tool addict, I've tried several twelve step programs, but still have stars in my eyes every time I get a new Harbor Freight catalogue, which I do about every ten days. Plus I get ten percent off every purchase, and have all of their prices memorized. The "Inside Track" club, at 15 pesos a year is a great deal too. You get a special catalogue, and in every one there are always 3-5 jaw dropping low prices on something. Latest was a good air jack for 69 bucks.
I've had my Harbor Freight drill press for about 15 years, and it is a great machine. I have their light and heavy (8 and 10 inch) bench grnders, have used their drills, grinders, hand tools, and a Whole Lot More, and find that about 90-95% are OK, but occasionally they drop a true piece of crap that breaks way too soon, but that is a rarity. And if you want to buy Milwaukee or DeWalt they have it too.
I believe electric motors have been around for 80-100 years, perhaps longer, the theory is well known, and since the Chinese are going into outer space next year, they can probably figure out how to make an AC motor, and what bushings are.
Harbor Freight's guarantee on almost all hand tools is lifetime, and I can get a wrench set from 1/4" to 1 & 1/4" on sale for ten bucks. Do they work? Well, I turn a wrench almost every day, have about 25-30 buses, five trucks, five fire trucks, and god only knows how many generators or other toys, and a forklift, and...
I use my Harbor Freight tools interchangably with my Craftsman or other brands. Their vice grips do suck, but not as hard as let's say the 49er's offense. I haven't tried their cordless stuff, but with only one battery included, .....
And last and certainly not least, Craftsman makes a hell of a good cordless in the 18V and 19.2 series. I dismantle buses and cars and fire trucks and etc. and have done it for the last 15 years, and I know which tools will work well. And the Craftsman flashlight is worth as much as the drill, a tremendous bright rechargeable light that will blind you for a good 4 hours.

Have a great one

Patrick, owner of the world's largest private collection of Crown and Gillig school buses, about 30 and growing--completely out of my control.

Mens Toy Store....

My wife goes in there and comes out 2 hours later with 20 bags of stuff. I still don't know what it is that she is buying, But at least I don't get yelled at for going without her along...

That $5.00 item usually lightens my wallet by a couple hundred. But I atually went there 2 weeks ago and didn't buy anything... I was depressed for days after such an ordeal...But I looked!!!
