well, maybe not the youngest, but at just turning 21 at the end of may, probably one of the youngest to actually own their own coach. :-) after almost two years of lurking, searching, shopping and learning, I finally took the plunge and bought my bus(actually, I firmly believe my bus picked ME, but ill explain that in a sec). its a 1980 Eagle Model 10 #30223, fully converted in '02. its outfitted with a DD 6v92TA (which through some very slight mods has been bumped up to 350hp, and has less than 50K mi on a total out of frame rbld), and an Allison HT740 transmission(rebuilt along with the motor). its an all electric coach powered by a Wrico/Kubota 8KW generator(which I bought w/ only 434 hrs on it) and has brand new 24.5" Alcoa wheels on equally new tires(about 90% tread all the way around). I had been drooling over this bus since september of '05, and hoping that it wouldn't sell since I would be using an inheritence to buy it that I wouldn't receive until I was 21(end of may). well, the bus sold. twice. the first time the buyer backed out at the last minute(whew!). the second time, the guy I bought it from(who has actually become a very good friend) drove all the way from sacramento, ca to las vegas to meet the buyer and actually had the $ IN HIS HANDS, but as he was counting the cash @ the bank in LV, the "buyer" was arrested by the FBI for major federal crimes, i.e laundering, fraud, etc. right there! ha! the whole time I had been staring at her, even going over to the sellers house to help him wash it and wax it for the latest buyer(which was bittersweet torture, you know). after that, I was even more sold than before. given the circumstances, I definetly think that this bus picked me. and as soon as she was paid for all sorts of little things started to work again. the pax headlight didnt work. we couldn't figure out why. we searched that bus front to back and nothing, but as soon as I sat in my happy chair and flipped that little toggle, both lights came on and have worked w/out a problem since. and now the supposed broken windshield washing fluid works perfectly. just little things like that make me love my girl even more. and a few quick thank yous are most definetly in order(ill make it quick): I@n, for running such an awesome board, which is practically a bus college(ever thought about getting accredited issuing degrees? haha), where I was able to gain such a HUGE amount of knowledge in an amazingly short time. thnx to rj long and buswarrior for your guys' concise, to the point, no bs, 100% fact posts that are consistently informative and always helpful. thnx to richard bowyer(DML), who even though he doesn't own a bus anymore, would always be the first to stand up and defend the birdies from the "rustbucket" attacks, and in turn, helped me feel good about loving them and wanting one so badly. a thnx definetly goes out to john MC9 for his posts that always whip us back into our seats, get our head out of the clouds, and make sure we don't get ahead of ourselves(and don't you love how he quotes the stupid things we say and puts then at the forefront of the message? haha), and to Fast Fred for showing me that it doesn't have to be a glitzy Prevo to be a functional, comfortable, reliable coach. sorry to write a novel.....just excited to own a bus, that's all....hope to see you all at some rallys in the future.

Kyle,

Congratulations man, that's a beautiful Eagle. Maybe this means I'm next......although I can't qualify for the title of youngest. Maybe I'll settle for ugliest :-) You're right about this board, a load of great people and knowledge here from what I've seen.

Good Luck

I would have given my right testament for an Eagle when I was 21. You have been blessed. Congratulations!

Kyle,
That is one fine looking unit. Even though I started dreaming about a coach at about twice your age, I can relate to your excitement. Good luck, and most of all have fun!.
