I have a 1979 MCI-9 with a generac 7.5 kw rv quietpac generator. I recently was on a trip in 90 degree + weather when the generator quit producing. This is how i run my A/C. I have taken it to a repair shop, which told me it was the PC board, but can't seem to find parts for it. The board cannot be repaired because it is sealed. Any suggestions other than buy something besides generac. |

Re: "I have taken it to a repair shop, which told me it was the PC board" I brought the PC board from our propane heater into a major shop, and they determined it to be bad.. I left w/out the $150 part. I found a corroded spark-gap was the real cause. The board's probably still in it to this day... Isn't that a brush type head on that genset? If so, check the brushes first.. The PC board is available, a Google for it turns up numerous outlets: generac 7.5 kw generator circuit board Most places will overnight one.. A friend's got a Generac.. well... had.. He sold the commercial portable food operation.. He used it weekly 12-15 hrs per at least... few years.. no probs.. |
