I have 4 cylinder Kubota powered 16.5 KW genset in an enclosure of about 1/3 or less of the last bay prior to drive axel. When I need it most(in 80* plus temps)it overheats and Murphs out. The air intake is from floor opening at generator end and is as large as room will allow. The rad is probably sized right, but engin fan doesn't push enough air to cool in high ambiant temps. We have tried additional 24 volt and a 160cpm 120 volt squrilcadge fan with no help. The rad was cleaned and rebuilt, it still hasn't helped. At this point I'm ready to relocate the rad and have been looking at either roof mounting or mounting prior to charge air cooler rad using a automotive type electric fan for either location. The bus is a 94 102DL with an S-60. Thanks in advance for any and all help. Skip |

Skip, I have almost your same setup except mine is run thru the bus radiator. I had mine hit the high temp mostly because my bus radiator was toast. I had changed the Kubota oil and used Napa filters...I called Wrico who made the gen setup and they said they had problems with off-brand filters, I went back to a Kubota oil filter and did not have any more shutdown issues...you might try that if your using some brand-x filters. Happy Trails, Brent |

Hello Skip. How is the engine intake and filter? Too small pipes/too many bends/too small or plugged air filter for the CFM needed for that engine will show up when the outside temps rise. You didn't mention whether this overheat is under way or parked. If under way, the intake for cooling air, under the bus, perhaps it gets starved for air when driving at speed? Maybe try a temporary lip or duct edge to be sure the air is going up into there, and not blowing by? Just thinking out loud. happy coaching! buswarrior |

Skip, Mine was overheating too until I took a pressure washer to the radiator (front and back). Made a big mess, but after that...she runs 40 degrees cooler. |
