A strange thing happened upon returning home yesterday in our 84 MCI 9. I pulled into the driveway and had to backup and reposition when I did this the accel. pedal locked up in drive but, not in reverse. I got out and unhooked the car and when I got back in and put in forward it worked.
When we left Waco earlier in the day I noticed that the airlock door mechanism would release and go on intermittently. Then, when I applied the brakes it would go off. I drained both wet tanks and the rear air valve. My compressor maintains 120 lbs. The little red ball air door lock is not functioning. Any ideas?

Phil,
That is a safty. It's a air valve under the peddal that prevents you from accelerating if the bag door valve is released.
I removed the lock from my peddal.

Phil,

You will find it by climbing into your spare tire compartment and looking up at the throttle cable. My selonoid was at the floor flange.
Yours might be behind your peddle. There will be an air line connected to it. After removing the valve you will have to cap off the air line.

Good luck
Nick-
