Hey Guys: This thread has been discussed many times but this week, our mechanic did something with our system that I had not heard discussed before. I am sure that somewhere down the line, somebody has done this, but of all the discussions on this thread, I've not seen anyone talk about it. He was getting ready to install one of the PVC pipe type arrangements. He had looked at all the possible places to mount, and route the slobber tubes. He had about decided the install it on the cross member which runs under the transmission. While drilling that member to make provisions to attach hangers for the PVC pipe, he found that this member is essentially a hollow tube. It is sealed on both ends where it attaches. Therefore, he "tapped" in two connections, one for each of the slobber tubes. He tapped the top for a vent release and tapped the bottom at the lowest point and installed a quick release drain connection, with a cable over to the wheel well between the tag and drive axles. So far, it appears to work well, and certainly avoids installation of any other external catch tubes. I realize this will not work on all busses. Ours is an Eagle. Just thought I would pass it on. |
