I have done a 10" roof raise and now have the old cap off.

The steel frame is in the way of marker lights on new cap.

Front roof rib must be moved back to allow for the slop of the bus front.

Would like to see some pictures of the way you have done this.

Any help you can give me would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks A Lot,
Paul

R&M fiberglass has a good vhs tape on how to install the caps, I'm assuming you purchased the caps from R&M. Also the caps are eigther standard or 8" roof raise you will need to add glass to your caps which is done. give Richard a call. Ray

I have visited the Gumpy site. His bus is a MCI 9 that you rivet in over the windshield. On a 102A3 the cap fits down into the rubber trim for the windshield. Were the old removed sign board plexiglass fit in. Richard at R & M Fiberglass has no information on installing 102A3 front cap. I do have there video tap and have watched it many time's. He told me to talk with John Cherry at Evolution Custom Coach. John said that they would be installing a front cap on a certain date. My son and I made the trip to Evolution Custom Coach in White Haven, Pennsylvania. He said to remove the plexiglass signboard and Cut cap to fit down in rubber trim. This includes 4 or 6 inches up the side rubber of the old sign board plexiglass. The September Bus Conversions has a article of Fred Hobe 102A3 8" roof raise. I cannot tell how the fiberglass was cut. Was it cut at top of drivers window or the roof line. Did He use the old side rubber from sign board plexiglass.

Try Va Coach. http://www.sawyersbussales.com/ He's a knowledgeable converter that may be helpful with a cap on a 102.

Hello Paul.

It sure would be neat to integrate the upper window from the later 102's into an "A" roof raise.

Other than that, I have nothing constructive to add.

happy coaching!
